KeymasterBase6 Diamond – A Strategic Card Game
Objective
The goal of the game is to strategically place cards to complete a pyramid structure, following strict matching rules. The game ends when one person completes their side of the diamond shape first.
Setup
- Players: 2–4 players
- Deck: Base6 standard deck (91 cards, no action cards)
- Deal: Each player is dealt 6 cards.
- Starting Layout: Deal 6 cards face-up in a row, side by side between both players.
Gameplay
- Playing a Card: A player must place one or more cards between two adjacent cards from the row below.
- Matching Rules:
- A placed card must match all connecting sides by suit, rank, or be a wild card.
- Each newly placed card must match all cards it touches in the row below.
- If playing with the Icon Matching Variation, cards may also match based on shared icons.
- Completing a Row:
- A new row cannot be started until the current row is fully completed.
- Play continues
- The number of cards in each row decreases as the pyramid is built (e.g., 6 → 5 → 4 → 3 → 2 → 1).
- Drawing and Playing:
- Each turn, a player must play at least one card.
- If a player cannot play, they must discard one card and draw a new card.
- After playing cards, a player draws the same number of cards they played, ensuring they always have 6 cards in hand.
Winning the Game
- The game is completed when the topmost row contains only one card.
- The player who plays the final card to complete the pyramid wins.
Game Variations
- Icon Matching Mode: In this variation, players may also match cards by shared icons instead of suit or rank.
- Extended Pyramid: Instead of a 6-card base, start with a larger base for a longer game.
